“Farming looks mighty easy when your plow is a pencil, and you’re a thousand miles from the corn field.” – President Dwight Eisenhower

Through Information and Communications Technology (ICT), AMIS-Cameroon aims to connect farmers with the vital information they need to succeed and survive. Specifically, farmers receive SMS messages with current information about market supply and demand, export opportunities and sustainable farming practices. By bridging this information gap, AMIS-Cameroon ultimately strives to boost sustainable agricultural activities that will promote the UN’s Millennium Development Goals 1, 3, 7, and 8.

These ICTs also create connections between farmers and agricultural technicians who encourage them to support each other through mutual advice and knowledge sharing. Without roads linking these farmers and agricultural experts year round, the information and expert advice offered through SMS allow farmers to maximize the return on their investment, produce high quality crops, and provide food to Cameroonian citizens at modest prices.

  • I have been surfing online more than three hours today, yet I never found any interesting article like yours. It’s pretty worth enough for me. In my view, if all web owners and bloggers made good content as you did, the net will be much more useful than ever before.

  • I’m starting up a online blog directory and was wanting to know if I can submit your site? I’m trying to grow my directory gradually by hand so that it maintains quality. I’ll make sure and put your blog in the best category and I’ll additionally use, “Information and Communications Technology AMIS-Cameroon” as your anchor text. Please be sure to let me know if this is acceptable with you by mailing me at: 7478Thansamai@gmail.com. Thanks
